SAPboard Specifications
Exceptional Strength
SAPboard features a robust design with exceptional strength and stiffness, giving you both the highest quality and exceptional performance. In the field, SAPboard allows for easy machining and adhesion, resulting in completely hassle-free installation. SAPboard also offers exceptional dimensional stability, which resists warping, twisting, and bowing. You won’t find a tougher subfloor than SAPboard. If you’d like to see the difference for yourself, you can see it in a series of videos where SAPboard is put to the test.
Bending Stiffness
Load Deflection: Tested To 500 Lbs
SAPboard is an extremely durable subfloor that easily handles over 500 lbs in a Load Deflection Test, making it an ideal choice for installation on 24″truss centers. In the test, SAPboard easily withstands more than twice the weight that a typical O5B can handle.
Drop Test: Withstands A Cinder Block Dropped From 25′
In the Drop Test, SAPboard deflected a cinder block that was dropped from 25’, demonstrating this product’s exceptional strength and durability.
Impact Test: Deflects 2×4 Propelled At 36ft/Sec
In the Impact Test, a side-by-side demonstration shows how SAPboard deflects a 2×4 that is propelled into it at 36ft/sec, while the same 2×4 easily pierces through a standard OSB.
Product Dimensions
SAPboard is available in 2×8 and 4×8 sheets as well as custom sizes.
Sound Absorption: Rates as high as 58 IIC and 62 STC
The innovative design of SAPboard provides a high-quality sound barrier that achieves sound absorption rates as high as 58 IIC and 62 STC. This far exceeds the acoustic requirements of the International Building Code (IBC), Section 1207; impact noise, the minimum laboratory rating is 50-IIC (45-FIIC if field tested) and airborne sound ratings of floor/ceilings assemblies require a minimum laboratory-derived rating of 50-STC (45-FSTC if field tested). For LEEDs ID credits, buildings must have a minimum STC for floor/ceiling assemblies STC and IIC ratings of 55.

Fire Rating: UL M539 Certification
SAPboard has been tested at UL labs and is included in specifications for 1-hour and 2-hour ratings for Dimensional Lumber, Open Web Trusses, and TJIs. SAPboard withstood temperatures exceeding 1,600 degrees and passed the 1-hour fire rating test earning the UL M539 certification with the inclusion in 10 other UL specifications
